Scarlet Villa - 3 storey housing project by UDA LAND at Taman Pauh Jaya

Assalamualaikum,

Another weekend, and another show house to visit. I received an invitation from UDA Land to attend an opening ceremony of their new show houses at Taman Pauh Jaya, Perai Pulau Pinang on 11th October 2014. Their new project on display was Scarlet Villa, with a tagline that reads "Luxurious Modern Tropical Homes".

Scarlet Villa is the sister project for Arcaria, another luxury homes currently being build by UDA Land within the vicinity of Taman Pauh Jaya. I covered Arcaria's show house opening ceremony a couple of months back, and you can read it from the link below.

Scarlet Villa consists of 3 storey bungalow, 3 storey semi-d and 3 storey terrace or superlink. On that day, both the semi-d and the terrace houses were on display. The semi-d unit was fully furnished while the terrace house that was open for viewing was bare. Because of that, most of the pictures that I'm going to share today will mostly cover the semi-d.

The next two pictures show the facade of the semi-d unit. I personally like the design for Arcaria's semi-d in comparison to the one from Scarlet Villa. Scarlet Villa's semi-d are more "homely" and "dated" and high chances that the home owners will want to renovate. Those three criterias are why I prefer the Arcaria. The design for Arcaria are more modern and owners will find it hard to change or renovate, because honestly, the modern design for the facade is hard to tamper or renovate with. I foresee that the Arcaria's overall modern appearance will age better and stay uniform with time. My wife, shares the same opinion. But, as always, individuality is key here. My opinion might not ring true with others. At the end of the day, you choose what will be best for you and for your immediate family.

Below are some pictures for the superlink.

The picture below was taken from the 2nd floor balcony of the superlink unit. To the right are the semi-d, and while to the left and straight to the front are the bungalows. Notice the columns being erected near bottom left of the picture? That will be where the surau is. I like it when a surau is nearby. Just a really short walking distance away.

Ok, lets concentrate with the semi-d. Below was how big the porch was. You can easily fit in 3 cars there. Plenty of room. Nice huh? A big porch gave a big impression of grandness (is grandness actually a word?). My first impression was a resounding WOW. And, I personally like the stoned covered wall. It gave a touch of elegance to the whole building.

At the side of the building, there were plenty of spaces. I can see potential on how to maximize the usage of that area. A barbeque pit came into mind. A good place to have a sip of coffee or tea in the afternoon or at night with family members. An area to put a portable pool for the kids? Why not?

The wooden ceiling came standard with the house. I'm not sure whether it was composite or natural wood. But the outlook was really nice.

Below was the backyard. A lot of space as well. Another hangout place maybe? Note the lush foliage. One thing that I like about UDA was how they tried to maintain existing trees. A very big plus if you ask me.

Now, let's enter the living room. It was a decent size. One thing that caught my eyes were the ceiling height. It was a tad low. I prefer high ceiling.

There was a small bathroom/toilet near the entrance to the house. Suitable for visiting guests.

Some pictures of the dining room. There was a partition in between dining and living room. The industrial designer tried to distinguish both rooms' functions. I prefer it to be a combine so that we can get the experience of a larger space.

The kitchen was big. It had both dry and wet kitchen areas. It was predominantly white. Creating the illusion of a bigger space.

There was a room on the ground floor. It was decorated as an office.

Lets head up to the 1st floor. There was a nice size family area. A great space to relax in.

The 1st floor housed the master bedroom. That bedroom was huge. What I did not like was that huge beam across the bedroom. An eyesore.

Master bedroom's bath and toilet was huge as well. Two wash basins. His and hers. No need to argue in the morning. Covered shower room, love it.

Here are pictures for the rest of the bedrooms, both on the 1st and 2nd floors. There were 6 bedrooms altogether. All came with their own bathroom/toilet.

Here are pictures of the 2nd floor family area. Love the raised floor. It is not standard though. It was part of the id.

This was something that I really like. An outdoor area on the 2nd floor. Adding wood decking there can be a nice touch. Fancy a barbeque party on the 2nd floor?

Vertigo.........a view of the staircase from 2nd floor to the ground floor.

I used to be a part time model before. Yeah, you guess it right....I'm the guy inside those pictures....NOT.

All in all, it was a good trip for me. I learned what RM1,200,000.00 can buy these days. As always, my motivation will be.....
