A fun filled hour at Jump Street, Penang

Assalamualaikum,

It was a Monday afternoon. The organizer for our team building session kept on reminding us not to take heavy lunch prior to our trip to Jump Street, Penang. Spending time on trampolines, jumping high and low with a full stomach is surely not advisable. Unless, you are the type that don't mind throwing up in public...

Jump Street is located inside a building, inside D'Piazza Mall to be exact. The mall itself is located in Bayan Baru.

To those  not familiar with that place, you can check out the GPS location shown below.

So impressed was I with the activities and ambiance at Jump Street, I decided to take my sons to experience some fun time bouncing on trampolines, less than a week after I went there for my company's team building session. Before I go any further, let's start with a video on how my sons were having tonnes of fun at Jump Street.

Since both of my sons were still young, I opted for instructor lead session. The instructor coached them on how to 'respect' the trampolines and the correct ways to jump up and down on them. The instructor made sure that individuals perform the activities correctly. The instructor lead session will last for an hour. You might think that an hour is not enough, but believe me an hour is more than enough. You'll get pretty tired towards the end of that hour.

Sessions will start on the hour. For example, if you arrive at the facility around 1:30pm, you are not allowed to jump until it reaches 2pm. Every session will last for one hour. So, plan your time properly, else you'll need to wait for your session to start.

The instructor would first lead my sons to the main court. There, they were given a quick briefing and a simple warming up routine. Lucky for them that the group was small. There were only 4 persons in that group. During that session, the instructor coached them how to jump and land correctly. He coached them a few tips and tricks as well. That session lasted about 10 minutes, but it was so tiring. I thought it was simple but I was so damn wrong...

Next was jumping into a foam pit. Both my sons had a great time there. They were doing flips and what not. It put a really big smiles on their faces.

Tower jump was fun as well. I thought that my sons won't be able to do it, but they proved me wrong. Who knew that landing on air bags can be so fun...

Battle Beam brought out the gladiator in them. Looks fun, right?

Slam dunk. Self explanatory I believe. Let the pictures do all the talking.

Dodge ball. My youngest sons teamed up with the instructor while my eldest teamed up with the two ladies. Both my sons had a blast, throwing balls at peoples. What was there not to like about that..

High Performance uses professional type of trampolines. What that means is that you can jump higher on those trampolines. That is where you can see people showing off their skills doing somersault, "wall walk", and some other fancy stuff.

That was the last session. There were a few minutes left, my sons decided to head to their favorite jumping station, the foam pit.

Some advice...Do bring your own drinks because you'll be needing them. You'll be sweating a lot, and will get dehydrated. The other option is to buy drinks or food from Jump Cafe. As usual, the prices are exorbitant. You'll be better off bringing your own drinks. Check out the pictures below on the foods and drinks prices at Jump Cafe.

And here are some pictures of food on offer. The big question is whether the foods are halal. I cannot see any approved Halal sign from Jakim. One of the staff said that they are serving halal foods. Well, I'm not convinced. So, I'll be staying away from their foods.

There was a first aid room in case you are down with injury.

Racks were provided to place your shoes and bags. You can opt for locker if you  need better storage for your belongings. Of course, you will need to fork out some money to use it. Toilets were clean.

And finally, the admission fees and operating hours. The fees and operating hours are as shown below. You'll get a special pair of socks with the admission fees. The socks have a rubbery base to provide good grip.

All in all, it was a fun trip. My sons keep on talking about it for days. And they kept pestering me to take them there again. Honestly, that is one place that I will take them again, and again, and again.
