Padlock your dreams

Assalamualaikum,

I had a chance roughly 3 or 4 weeks ago to go to Equatorial Hotel for a 2D1N stay. A chance to unwind and let off some steam from the daily work routine. A chance for my sons to spend some splashing time with their immediate family members. Initially, the plan was to spend the weekend at Batu Feringhi, but, all of the hotels along that stretch were fully booked. Need to find one further away from that area as an alternative. That was when we decided to go to Equatorial Hotel.

This post is not a review of that hotel. It is a post on one interesting find that I had while doing a leisurely morning walk on the hotel ground. Walking down the short trekking trail along the hotel vicinity, I chanced upon an open area with an interesting feature.

There was an area where you can physically padlock your dreams or memories. It is a symbolic symbol to preserve those valuable thoughts and experiences.

This is not a new idea. This is rather similar to "Love Lock" bridges in Paris and Locks of Love at N Seoul Tower in Korea.

There are railings made for hanging the padlocks. Judging from the amount of padlocks dangling from the railings, it seems that it is not yet popular with the people staying at the hotel. But it is a way cheaper alternative to join in the fun instead of having to travel to France or Korea. As for me, there are better ways to immortalize memories, and it does not require any padlock to go with it...

Hmmmm, I wonder how both Janice and David ended up. Now married with children?

That's all for today.....
